Kamloops, British Columbia – October 8, 2023 – Team ELiTE emerged triumphant in an exhilarating journey at the Big League Experience 13U Turkey Shootout. Their outstanding performance and unwavering resolve propelled them to claim the championship title in a display of sheer excellence on the diamond.
The tournament, which started October 6th to October 8th, witnessed the Team ELiTE navigating through intense competition with skill and determination. Their path to victory was marked by thrilling victories and hard-fought battles against formidable opponents.
Team ELiTE kicked off their campaign on Friday, October 6th, with a resounding victory against the Kamloops RiverDogs in Game 1. Their momentum continued on Saturday, October 7th, as they secured another impressive win against the Okanagan Coyotes in Game 2. Despite facing a setback against the Travail Showmen in Game 3, Team ELiTE rebounded swiftly and triumphed over the Saskatoon Rhinos in the Semi-Final match on Sunday, October 8th.
In a dramatic showdown for the championship title, the Team ELiTE delivered a stellar performance against the Penticton Tigers in the Final game, emerging victorious to claim the 13U Turkey Shootout Championship.
Head Coach Davin Gulbransen praised his team’s resilience and determination, stating,
“This Fantastic group of young men was a joy to coach! Coming from different associations for a weekend of baseball fun you never know what you’re going to get but the leadership qualities of the players involved promoted team unity from the get-go and as the weekend continued the team chemistry was on full display. Sometimes the teams with the best players don’t win…often times it’s the best team who wins.”
